AN ANIMAL charity based in Southampton has had its van vandalised.

Southampton Cats Protection's van was spray painted by vandals between 9pm and 8am on March 19 to 20.

The van was one of our main vehicles that is used to go around to the feral colonies of cats to feed them every day.

Carolyne Kemp from Southampton Cats Protection said:We feel like we have been targeted as it was in such a remote location.

"The van is off the road and people are now having to use their own vehicles to feel the cats.

"The volunteers are really upset. It was almost like it was done so we couldn't use it.

"This is going to have a major impact on our vital branch work, our HQ are setting up a just giving page and an appeal for us to help replace the van and help us to get back to helping cats in need, details to follow.

"How anyone can target us in this way is unbelievable, its a very sad time for all our volunteers who give up their time for free to help cats and kittens in Southampton."

The van had all of its lights black out and the windows was also covered in the paint.
