A PEDESTRIAN who died in mysterious circumstances had been on a night out with friends before being hit by two cars, police say.

Sagar Bhatti, 23, was killed following a collision on Woodside Avenue, Eastleigh, early on the morning of Sunday, March 10.

Officers believe there may have been a "disturbance" in the area of Broadlands Avenue, Eastleigh, between 3.30am and 5.45am that day, and are keen to speak to anyone who saw Sagar on the evening of Saturday, March 9, or in the early hours of the following day.

DI Lee Macarthur said: "We know that Sagar was out with friends, and went to Winchester and Eastleigh, on the evening of Saturday, 9 March.

"He travelled back from Winchester to Eastleigh on a train later that evening or during the early hours of Sunday morning.

"He then went to The Station pub and we think he then took a taxi back to the Boyatt Wood area.

“We want to speak to anyone who saw Sagar that evening or during the early hours of Sunday morning.

"Even if you don’t have information about the incident that lead to his death, we still want to speak to you.

"We need as much information as possible so we can build up a picture of exactly what happened in the lead up to this tragic incident.

“We also still need to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard a disturbance in the Broadlands Avenue area between 3.30am and 5.45am on Sunday, March 10. If you live in the area and have CCTV, please let us know as you may have captured something which could assist our investigation.

“We still also want to speak to anyone who was driving along Woodside Avenue between 5.30am and 5.45am that morning. If you saw anyone in the area between these times or think you may have captured something on your dash cam then please let us know.

“Even the smallest bits of information, that might not seem significant to you, may turn out to be very valuable to the investigation, so please do get in touch.”

Following Sagar's death two men aged 26 and 29, both from Eastleigh, were arrested on suspicion of murder and released under investigation.
