OVER 50 lambs have been stolen in Hampshire.

The three-week-old lambs were stolen from a farmers field in the Hursley area last night.

The National Farmers Union confirmed they were stolen between midnight and 6am.

The lambs are not weaned, leaving the mothers distressed.

The spokesperson said: "If anyone does see or hear the group of lambs, then please contact police on 101."

A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: "We are investigating after 50 lambs were reported stolen from a field in the Hursley area of Hampshire.

"Several other lambs were also found dead in the field.

"This is believed to have taken place on the 28 March.

"Enquiries are on-going."
