CLASS A drugs, money, and mobile phones were seized as four people were arrested in a raid on a Salisbury flat.

As part of a County Line investigation, the home on Essex Square was searched by Wiltshire Police on Saturday, in a move to disrupt cross-border drug dealing and cuckooing - where drug dealers take over the home of a vulnerable person in order to use it as a base.

It came after officers and staff from Wiltshire South Community Policing Team visited nine addresses in the area, which led them to the West Harnham flat, after neighbours said they had witnessed suspicious activity, including lots of people "coming and going".

Officers then arrested four males, aged between 17 and 19, on suspicion of being involved in the supply of Class A drugs.

Police say the four are from Kent, Essex, London and Buckinghamshire.

Two of those arrested, including one under 18, were missing people who were deemed vulnerable and at risk of exploitation.

Officers also seized money, mobile phones, and a quantity of what they believed to be Class A drugs. It has not been revealed what substance was found.

All four have been released under investigation.

Sergeant Mike Standing, from Wiltshire South Community Policing Team, said: "It is through the hard work of the officers involved and the willingness of local residents to assist that this drugs network has been disrupted.

"The supply of Class A drugs has a hugely detrimental effect on our communities and those individuals involved.

"This shows how important it is that Wiltshire Police continue to work towards tackling this problem but equally how we need information from the public to assist with this."

As well as the arrest, the force says it worked with Wiltshire Council to issue closure orders on a number of premises, to try to assist in cracking down on drug dealing.
