AN AIR ambulance landed in Salisbury city centre this evening.

Touching down on the open area at Greencroft, next to the A36 and Bourne Hill, paramedics rushed to a home on Greencroft Street, a witness told the Journal.

The helicopter flew in low over city buildings as it attended the incident at just past 6pm.

An ambulance and a fire engine were also at the scene.

The South Western Ambulance Service was unable to provide any details as the helicopter was responding to an incident at a private address.

It is not known what type of situation the ambulance was responding to.
