A CANNON will be blasting off in Eastleigh town centre in aid of a charity fun run.

Ickle Pickles will be letting off a “massive” bubble cannon outside the Swan Centre from 11.30am to 2pm on Tuesday.

The charity, which supports neonatal units across Hampshire has partnered with Bubble Rush to promote its 5k foam run.

Kicking off from Wide Lane Sports Ground on July 6 fundraisers from Ickle Pickle are encouraging people to get involved.

Fundraiser Holly Walker said: “We want people to sign up to the event and help raise as much money as possible for the local neonatal units in Hampshire. As a charity, we are aiming to raise over £25,000 from this event.”

Ickle Pickles talks to doctors and nurses on natal units to ensure the money raised is spent on the most essential and needed items for their unit.

Each unit gives the charity a wish list of items that can be purchased to help them to look after the most vulnerable babies and their families.

The charity’s long-term plan is to become the charity partner for 150 neonatal units and to donate vital equipment to every neonatal unit in England and Wales.

Holly added: “We work closely with neonatal wards to ensure they have the best equipment and facilities.

“As a charity, we can provide new pieces of equipment which make a real difference. We also work with wards on their wellbeing service. We provide siblings with colouring packs and activities and aim to take the small stresses for families.”
