A HAMPSHIRE woman is enjoying television success as an award-winning comedian, writer and actress.

Anna Morris who grew up in Chandler's Ford will be seen on screens across the country this Thursday.

She will be starring in the second series of Channel 4's Lee and Dean which will run for eight weeks.

It is a comedy series following the lives of Stevenage builders and childhood friends Lee and Dean.

Anna who plays the character of Pippa describes the series as a comedy-drama with some really dark humour.

She said: "Series two is better than the last series one minute you're laughing and the next minute it's really sad."

To date, Anna has written and performed four critically acclaimed interactive one-woman comedy shows.

In a surprise twist of fate Anna was catapulted to success after uploading a video to YouTube of self-devised ‘bridezilla’ character Georgina and was spotted by a top agency.

She appeared alongside Hugh Dennis in Outnumbered as Eastern European receptionist Timaeia, before landing a starring role in ITV series Bad Bridesmaid.

The funny woman who spends much of her time between Hertfordshire, Winchester and Chandler's Ford went to Barton Peveril College.

She said: "I loved my time there and there was a really good drama department. My sister still lives in Winchester. I love the area, you have nice countryside and there are loads of things to do in Southampton."

The 38-year-old has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and her work has even taken her as far afield as Australia.

According to Anna, she does not like watching her own material because she is too self-critical, despite this, she said: "I feel really excited about the new series, we are all really excited! The cast is like a family and we all get on so well. We are going to get pizzas and stay in to watch the show on Thursday."

After wrapping up filming in the autumn Anna is now taking time off touring and is now writing two sitcoms in collaboration with Mark O’Sullivan, also from Lee and Dean.

Offscreen Anna likes travelling and doing yoga and looks forward to a holiday in the Maldives later this year.
