A DRIVER and passenger had a lucky escape when piece of fence smashed straight through their windscreen in a dramatic crash in Hampshire early today.
Photographs released by Hampshire Police show that the dark blue car came off the road and went through a fence.
A piece of wood then went through the front of the car.
Both the driver and passenger of the car escaped with broken bones following the incident which happened at about 4.40am.
Hampshire Roads Policing officers said that the driver of the car was breathalised after the incident.
A tweet from Hampshire Police said: "Both driver and passenger lucky to get away with a couple of broken bones!"
Details of where the accident happened have not been released.
Officers have also not given details of those in the car or the vehicle they were driving.
