EMERGENCY services have been called to the scene of a crash near a pub.

Hampshire Constabulary says it was called at 11.04am following the incident, which happened on Portsmouth Road, Bursledon, following a two-vehicle collision yesterday.

Two fire crew from High Town and St Mary's were called to assist police at the scene at 11.27am.

One driver was extracted from their vehicle by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service after suffering minor injuries.

A Saab was left in a hedge next to the road following the collision, while a Renault Clio went through a fence and into a bush.

The crash reportedly happened while both vehicles were heading eastbound.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 11.27am to Portsmouth Road to a collision involving two vehicles on the highway.

"One person was extracted from a vehicle and was taken to hospital by ambulance."
