BOAT enthusiasts are being urged to Get On Board and stay in a unique form of accommodation.

Up-and-coming business Flotespace has just launched in Dorset and Hampshire and offers a floating version of Airbnb.

Members of the public can choose from a wide selection of watercraft and from a broad price range and book accommodation as they would in a hotel or guest house.

Prices on Flotespace’s UK books range from around £100 per night to around £600 per night.

It is currently up and running in Poole Quay Marina, Lymington and at Town Quay in Southampton.

The company was set up in Australia two years ago and now founder Hugh Treseder is bringing the business to his native UK.

He is currently travelling around the UK coastline to establish links in as many marinas as possible.

He told the Daily Echo: “Boat owners can list their boats free of charge and it gives them a safe and secure way of utilising their assets.”

He said Flotespace can be used by individuals or couples as well as companies for team-building or an unusual working environment.

He said it also offers the ultimate “try before you buy” for people who are considering buying a boat.

“There are a selection of different boats available” he added. “Some people prefer something basic, similar to glamping, while others are looking for the ultimate in luxury.”
