THIS is the moment brave firefighters attempted to tackle a large open air fire at close quarters.
Firefighters rushed to the scene of the blaze at Burton Common, near Hinton Admiral, on Saturday evening.
The area, also known locally as Gus Common, is in a remote area of the New Forest District close to the Hampshire and Dorset border.
Crews from stations including Burley and Lyndhurst attended the fire, which took 30 firefighters more than two hours to bring the fire under control using hosereel jets from six off-road appliances.
