A WINCHESTER teenager has been banned for driving with excess alcohol.
Darcy Farwell, 18, was stopped by police on St Swithun Street in Winchester city centre on March 29, a court heard.
Farwell, of Cheriton Road, Fulflood, was in a 63-reg Peugeot 307 when intercepted. His alcohol reading was 79 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath – more than double the legal limit.
Farwell was in court to admit the offence and he also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
Magistrates in Basingstoke banned him for 19 months and fined him £90 with a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
The ban will be cut by 145 days if Farwell passes an approved course by April 23 2020.
