A COLLECTION of rare and endangered reptiles visited Southampton over the Easter weekend.

On Sunday and Monday, a variety of animals were on display at Lordshill Community Association.

They included a 13ft Burmese python, a Royal python, a Tegu lizard from Argentina, a Chinese water dragon and a veiled chameleon.

Visitors of all ages were able to hold and pet exotic animals from around the world.

Reptile Academy volunteer Curtis Kenneavy, said: “I think reptiles are misunderstood. Everyone thinks they are scary but you are more likely to get bitten by a dog.”

The all-day exhibition was brought to Southampton by Reptile Academy who aim to educate people about the different species.
