A MAN has been charged with murder following the death of a man outside a Southampton pub.

Perry Cardy suffered life-threatening injuries during the incident outside the Bitterne in Thornhill Park Road on Friday night.

The 52-year-old , who lived on the same road as the pub, was taken to Southampton General Hospital but it was confirmed on Sunday that he had died.

Hampshire Constabulary arrested two men on Sunday, as they launched an investigation, and the pair continued to be questioned yesterday.

Tributes to the “lovely” Mr Cardy have poured in on social media since the news broke.

He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court tomorrow (Tuesday 23 April).

Anyone who saw the incident or has any information about what happened, who hasn't yet spoken to police, is asked to call 101 quoting Operation Bonham.

Police are now appealing for information in connection to the incident, which happened outside the pub at around 9.50pm.
