SOUTHAMPTON residents were treated to funfair music, bouncy castles and steam engine rides at the Easter Eggstravorganza in St James’ Park.
The event was hosted by Friends of St James’ Park and boasted organ music, a barbecue at the Parklife Cafe an an Easter quiz.
Organiser Hilde Gronberg said: “There were about 3,000 people and it was packed. The highlight of the event is when everything comes together and you can sit down and relax.”
She added: “Satvir Kaur, the cabinet member for homes and culture, came along and we had fun showing her around.
“This is one of the biggest events we have had and it is to keep the community spirit up.”
The charity’s free summer festival is on July 6, starting at 10am.
