POLICE are warning Chandler’s Ford residents to be vigilant following a burglary.
They received a report of an incident in Gardner Way, Chandler’s Ford which happened between Tuesday, April 9, and Saturday, April 20.
Entry was forced to the rear of the property and cash and jewellery, including a necklace, bracelets and some rings, were stolen from inside.
Police are urging people to report any suspicious activity and residents are advised not to leave curtains or blinds open, and not to leave valuables on show.
A police spokeswoman said: “If you are going away, ask a neighbour or friend to check your house regularly.
“You should buy timer switches for lamps and radios to give the impression that someone is home. Consider fitting security lighting and installing an alarm system.
“Don’t leave keys in doors, instead remove them and keep them close at hand, but out of sight where you can easily find them in an emergency.
“Never leave a key under a doormat or on a string through the letterbox.”
Anyone with information relating to the Gardner Way incident can contact police on 101, quoting 44190136478, or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
