A FAREHAM man has been handed a suspended jail sentence for threatening his partner.
Paul Keltie, 32, of The Gannets, pleaded guilty to causing harassment, alarm or distress by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour.
Portsmouth magistrates heard he also sent a message that was grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character.
They sentenced him to eight weeks imprisonment suspended for 18 months and handed out a restraining order.
He was also ordered to have treatment for alcohol dependency, pay a victim surcharge of £115 and pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85.
