POLICE have launched a search for two men after a delivery driver was robbed in the early hours of this morning.

Officers say the driver was approached by the men in Gilpin Close, Thornhill, between 1.45am and 2am

One of the men was carrying a knife while the other had a a baseball bat. They demanded the driver hand over his money and the keys to his scooter, which he did.

The two men then left the scene on the scooter and the delivery driver, a 34-year-old man from Southampton, was uninjured.

Both men are described as aged between 20 and 25-years-old, and six feet tall. One man is described as white and the other as black and both were wearing balaclavas.

They left on a white Honda scooter with the registration HX65 HBU. It has not yet been recovered.

Detective Constable Shaun Docker from the Western Investigation Team said: “We have been carrying out a number of enquiries in the local area and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened. We also want to speak to anyone who has seen the white Scooter since the incident or who knows where it might be.

“Someone will know who is responsible for this. If you don’t want to speak to us you can always ring Crimestoppers and you can leave information anonymously.”
