A WOMAN was attacked during a violent burglary when five men entered her Hampshire home.

At around midnight yesterday a group of four or five men entered a flat in Cody Road and made demands for money towards the occupant of the flat, a woman in her 50s.

She was subsequently assaulted, leaving her with facial injuries.

Police are now appealing for information regarding the aggravated burglary which took place in Farnborough.

Some items from one of the bedrooms in the flat were then grabbed by the men before they left, however it is not known at this time what exactly has been stolen.

The men were understood to have left the street in a car described as a blue or green hatchback.

One member of the group was described as being aged around 16 or 17-years-old, white, around 6ft 1ins tall and wearing a red and black scarf over his face.

Another was described as white, aged in his 20s, with blond gelled back hair and a green parker jacket.

The rest of the group were all described as being white and aged in their 20s.

Detective Sergeant Cheryl Croucher said: “Understandably this will cause the community some concern, and was particularly frightening for the woman inside the flat.

“We want to reassure people that local officers will be conducting patrols and enquiries in the area. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to them if you see them.

“We are urging anyone who may have witnessed something, or seen men matching the descriptions acting suspiciously in the area, or the vehicle in the area at this time, to contact us.

“If you know the people responsible, please tell us who they are.

“I will take this opportunity to remind people to ensure your homes are properly secured overnight, and if you see any suspicious activity in your neighbourhood then call the police.”
