FORMER Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow will lead a star-studded cast in pantomime in Southampton this Christmas.

The BRIT and Ivor Novello award winning artist, who is also a leading musical theatre star, will play the role of the evil Captail Hook opposite television and stage star Darren Day, Union J singer Jaymi Hensley and the hilarious Grumbleweeds at Mayflower Theatre from December 14.

Marti Pellow has produced some of the UK's biggest number one singles, including Love Is All Around and Good Night Girl, and celebrates more than 30 years in the music industry with a Glastonbury appearance this summer.

In addition to his music, Marti has also starred in numerous high-profile theatre productions in the West End and on Broadway, including Chicago and Evita for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the WhatsOnStage Awards. He has also starred in The Witches of Eastwick, Blood Brothers and Jekyll & Hyde in Southampton.#

Actor, singer and television presenter Darren Day will play Captain Hook’s right hand man, Smee. Darren has had an extensive stage career in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Grease, Summer Holiday, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Godspell. He has hosted You Bet! and Don’t Try This at Home for ITV and appeared in The Bill, Stella, Hollyoaks and Holby City.

Starring as Peter Pan, Union J star Jaymi Hensley makes his Mayflower debut. Having starred in X Factor, Union J went on to great success releasing the popular hit singles Carry You, Tonight (We Live Forever) and You Got it All as well as two studio albums, their self-titled top ten album Union J and You Got It All – The Album. Jaymi reached the semi-finals of Celebrity Masterchef and was a judge on the CBBC talent search Got What It Takes. Jaymi is currently touring the UK in the title role of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Robin Colvill and James Brandon, better known as The Grumbleweeds, will star alongside them as the pirates. Regulars on the UK comedy scene since the 1960s across radio, television, theatre, cabaret and pantomime the ‘guv’nors’ of live comedy will bring their inimitable style of family entertainment, musical comedy and laugh-out-loud routines to the production.

Peter Pan promises to be packed to the crows-nest with laugh-out-loud comedy, spectacular special effects, music and action.
