A DEER brought traffic to a standstill on the M27 this morning.
Highways England was forced to stop vehicles in both directions between junction three for the M271 and junction four for the M3 at about 10am.
A Highways England tweet said: "All traffic held in both directions whilst traffic officers and road workers try to clear a deer away from the motorway for the safety of both road users and the animal.
"We appreciate your patience."
Shortly afterwards it tweeted: "Thankfully the deer has made its way back to the safety of the woods and all traffic has now been released."
