A MAN has been charged in connection with malicious social media messages made about a bomb plot at Fratton Park.
It comes after a threat was made on Twitter on Wednesday to ‘kill 150 fans’ during Portsmouth's League One play-off semi-final tie against Sunderland – which the Hampshire side drew on the night, but lost 1-0 on aggregate.
Another tweet was made containing a bomb threat.
Police were alerted and the account was later suspended.
Officers later announced they had arrested a man in connection with the tweets.
Kieron Richardson, 22, from Northallerton, Yorkshire, will appear at York Magistrates Court on June 7.
