ANIMAL lovers are invited to join a pet welfare charity for a special tea party in aid of sick, and injured pets.

The Blue Cross are hosting Paws for Tea to help raise money for vital funds.

Delicious cakes and tea will be served on Saturday, May 25, between 11am until 2pm at Hatch Grange, West End.

There will also be lots of games, a tombola and activities for the whole family.

Kirsty Smith, Rehoming Supervisor at Blue Cross in Southampton, said: “We hope to see lots of visitors at our Paws for tea event this year and for everyone to enjoy a slice of their favourite cake and a refreshing cuppa – all in aid of pets needing our help.

“It’s the purr-fect way to raise money and every penny really does make a difference.”

Pet lovers are also being urged to host their own tea party fundraising events.

By inviting family, friends and neighbours, animal lovers can share a toast and donate towards the care of pets in need.

The pack includes balloons, posters and a collection box for team party participants to donate to

A fundraising pack is available from the Blue Cross website and also includes vegan banana and peanut butter cupcakes.

There is also a recipe for you’re very own ‘pupcake’, which are safe for furry-friends to enjoy.

All you need is self-raising flour, finely grated carrot, two eggs and honey.

To decorate, use cream cheese and one of your pet’s favourite treats.

The Blue Cross Southampton pet rehoming centre opened in 1991 and successfully rehomes hundreds of cats and dogs every year, serving communities across Hampshire.

Blue Cross is a national charity that has been helping sick, injured, abandoned and homeless pets for over 120 years.

The organisation helps thousands of pets in need every month by providing veterinary care, expert behaviour help and find them loving homes.
