A ROBBERY victim narrowly avoided being struck by a car as he fell into the road during an attack by two men.

Police say the driver was forced to slam on their brakes to avoid the man as he fell.

Officers say the incident happened during a robbery on Privett Road, Gosport, on Friday, May 17.

They say that between 7pm and 7.30pm, a group of four 18-year-old men were approached by two other men.

Those men proceeded to assault three members of the group.

Items including an iPhone 6S Plus, tobacco, and a rucksack containing miscellaneous items were stolen from the victims.

Officers are appealing for the driver of the vehicle who nearly hit the man to come forward as they may have valuable information.
