A SOUTHAMPTON youngster who showed a "complete disregard" to law and court orders has been jailed.

Wycliffe Junior Gayle, 20, committed several offences, including criminal damage and assault, during an incident in Southampton on May 17 this year.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of assault, two counts of criminal damage, one count of breaching a restraining order and one count of using abusive or insulting language.

Gayle also admitted assaulting a police officer and breaching a suspended sentence order.

He was jailed for a total of 48 weeks during an appearance at Southampton Magistrates Court.

Magistrates said the reason for jailing Gayle was his "complete disregard to law and court orders".

Gayle, of Windermere Avenue, Southampton, was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
