THE Army Flying Museum (AFM) received its royal seal of approval when Prince Michael of Kent officially opened its doors following a £2.59million redevelopment.
Dignitaries from across the military world attended the celebrations in Middle Wallop praising the efforts of the team behind the five-month refurb.
He said: “What a joy it is to come back to the museum. I’m very pleased that Sir Gary Coward (chairman) and his team of trustees, staff and volunteers have managed to complete what is in effect the complete transformation of the museum. The volunteers and staff deserve unlimited credit.”
Awards were then presented by Prince Michael to certain volunteers at the museum.
Several new exhibitions are now open, which include two aircrafts which have never been on display before, and around 180 new information panels featuring hundreds of never-seen-before pictures.
