A SOUTHAMPTON man who assaulted a police officer in the city centre has been ordered to pay compensation.
Joshua Graham assaulted the officer on the High Street on December 14.
The 31-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge, but was found guilty during a hearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court.
Graham, of Oxford Avenue, Southampton, was given a conditional discharge of 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay compensation of £50 to the officer, as well as a £20 victim surcharge and £150 in court costs.
