POLICE have made a third arrest after a man in his fifties was stabbed in the chest in a Hampshire town.

Officers have arrested a 17-year-old boy from Winchester on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, following the incident in Bishop's Waltham.

It comes after two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of the same charge, following reports of a serious assault on Battery Hill around 10.30pm on Friday (May 31).

The teenagers, a 17-year-old boy from Chandler’s Ford and an 18-year-old man from Bishops Waltham, have both been released on bail until June 28.

Police say the 17-year-old from Winchester remains in police custody at this time.

The man in his 50s, who suffered a stab wound to his chest in the incident, was taken to hospital.

He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Police say his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
