COMEDY superstar John Bishop will try out work in progress on Southampton audiences when he plays four nights at NST City in September.

Tickets for the intimate stand up shows, from September 24 to 27, will go on sale on Friday at 10am.

Following his critically acclaimed sell-out 2017/8 UK tour ‘Winging It‘, which played to over 500,000 people during a mammoth 150 date sell out tour of the UK & Ireland, John can’t wait to get back on the live stage to try out new material.

In Winging It, John shared his opinions on the royal family and how Kate Middleton could have been Mrs Bishop. Audiences found themselves carried along with his brilliantly observed feelings about hitting the big 50, how to deal with the 'empty nest', the menopause, the moment he finally managed to impress his mates with his fairly new found fame and getting a 'name-check', live on stage in Boston, from his idol Bono.

John's first public performance in 2000 was quickly followed by a whole series of nominations for comedy awards: he was a finalist in So You Think You’re Funny, the BBC New Comedy Awards, The City Life North–West Comedian of the Year and The Daily Telegraph Open Mic Awards.

He left pharmaceutical sales behind, became a full time touring comedian and hasn’t looked back.

In 2009, he received an Edinburgh Comedy Award Nomination for his show Elvis Has Left The Building, which was a sell out.

Since then, he's raised £4.2m for Sport Relief with an epic challenge in 2012, achieved huge success with his own comedy, entertainment and documentary shows including John Bishop's Britain (2010–2011), John Bishop's Only Joking (2013) and The John Bishop Show (2015) and enjoyed numerous large arena tours.
