A SERIAL thief who stole a tub of fish oil, pork belly slices and a pot of turmeric has been jailed.

Nicholas Croome also admitted a number of others thefts, using abusive language or behaviour towards a woman and breaching a suspended sentence order.

Southampton Magistrates' Court heard how the offences all took place in May and June this year.

Croome targeted various shops across Southampton, including One Stop and Tesco.

On one occasion, the 32-year-old stole four pork belly slices, four gammon steaks and a chicken breast, with a total value of £32.35.

He also targeted Holland and Barrett, where he stole fish oil and a pot of turmeric.

In total, Croome pleaded guilty to 11 counts of theft, one count of using abusive language in the vicinity of a person and one count of using threatening language towards a woman.

He also admitted breaching a suspended sentence order, imposed after a conviction for assault.

Magistrates jailed Croome, of no fixed address, to six months in prison.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
