BRENDONCARE Care Homes in Winchester, Otterbourne and Chandler’s Ford will open their doors to welcome visitors on Friday June 28.

The National Care Home Open Day is an annual event and this year’s theme is ‘Celebrating Art in Care’. The idea is to encourage local people to visit care homes, to give them an insight into their role. Brendoncare is supporting the day and inviting the local community to see for themselves what care homes are about.

Brendoncare Park Road will open its doors at 2pm and will be welcoming the Millers Ark Animals for the visitors and residents to meet. Local artists will be attending to show off their creative work. A range of refreshments will also be available.

Brendoncare Meadway will be serving a delicious afternoon tea from 2pm onwards.

Brendoncare Knightwood will be hosting farm animals from a local farm at 2pm. Bucks fizz and strawberries will also be served during the afternoon.

Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill will commence its programme of activities, including Tai Chi, from 9am-12pm. Children from the Yellow Dot Nursery will be visiting and coffee and cake will be served in the Community Hub.

The Brendoncare Foundation’s head of care services, David Robinson, said, “We are really looking forward to welcoming friends, families and the local community to our care homes. We would like people to come and have a look around, meet the staff and our residents, and join in the fun.”
