A JEALOUS boyfriend smashed three beer bottles over his friend’s head, kicked him in the face and bit his back because he believed he was interested in his girlfriend.

In a drunken rage, Bradie Shkensberg unleashed a sustained attack on his friend, in front of his terrified lover.

After smashing three Corona bottles over his friend’s head, he repeatedly punched and kicked him, before sinking his teeth into his back.

With blood still on his hands, he threatened an unsuspecting driver, who he demanded to drive him away from the scene.

Yesterday, the “dangerous” 27-year-old, who smirked during his sentencing at Southampton Crown Court, was jailed for 10 years.

The court was told how Shkensberg had been an “on-and-off” friend of his victim for 10 years.

The friend had introduced Shkensberg to his girlfriend’s sister, who Shkensberg began dating.

But prosecutor Jeremy Wright told the court that Shkensberg was jealous of their friendship.

This sparked Shkensberg to confront his friend at his work – where he threatened to cut off his child’s fingers.

Mr Wright said Shkensberg also assaulted his partner on December 4, when he pinned her to the bed, spat at her and slapped her.

Mr Wright added: “He said if he caught her speaking to another man her punishment would be to watch him beat that man up.”

Then, on December 14, Shkensberg and his partner visited her sister and his friend’s home in Ashurst, New Forest.

The court heard the group were drinking when Shkensberg lifted his partner into the kitchen.

Mr Wright said: “He launched a sustained attack on his friend, which began when he took a Corona bottle and smashed it on his friend’s head.

“He fell to the floor and as he tried to get up Shkensberg began kicking him in the face.”

Mr Wright said Shkensberg smashed two more beer bottles over his victim’s head and continued to punch and kick him while he was on the floor.

He added: “He managed to get hold of Shkensberg in such a way that he was stopped from hitting or kicking him, but the defendant then bit him for a significant period, causing injury.”

The court heard how Shkensberg left the flat and approached a man waiting in his car outside Asha curry house on Lyndhurst Road.

He forced the man to drive him away from the scene, after threatening him.

In mitigation, Jamie Gammon said Shkensberg’s violent behaviour was triggered by drink and drugs.

Shkensberg pleaded guilty to one count of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH), one count of kidnapping and one count of assault.

Judge Peter Henry sentenced Shkensberg, of Salisbury Road, Totton, to a 10-year sentence.

He also deemed Shkensberg as a “dangerous” offender and included an extended five-year licence period.
