A VILLAGE with a population of just over 1,000 people has been targeted by burglars six times in just days, police say.
Homes in Yetminster, North Dorset, have been raided by burglars on dates between Wednesday, June 5 and Monday, June 10.
Police initially called for anyone with information to come forward after a property in Chapel Lane was burgled sometime between 5pm and 7.30pm on the Wednesday.
Since then, officers have received five further reports of residential burglaries in the village.
The majority of the incidents are believed to have occurred during the daytime. Police say that in most cases, the burglars force their way into homes and steal valuable items including jewellery.
The further properties targeted were in Brister End, Queen Street, Church Street and Ryme Road. Another property in Chapel Lane was also raided.
PC Simon Rogers, of Dorset Police, called for anyone with information to get in touch via dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting 55190088117
He said: “I would also like to take this opportunity to urge residents to remain vigilant and make sure their properties are left secure at all times."
