FOUR people were found unconscious in a home near Fordingbridge last week.

Police, paramedics, an air ambulance crew and firefighters were called to Wick Lane in Downton at 9.50am on Saturday after reports of a concern for the welfare of people in a property.

Two people were rushed to Salisbury District Hospital, while two others were treated at the scene.

Police say the incident is believed to be drug-related.

Sergeant Keith Jackson said: "Police were called to reports of four persons inside not in the best of health, not feeling particularly well, and a potential smell of gas coming from the address as well."

Officers said there is no threat to the wider public.

Fire crews from Salisbury, Fordingbridge, Ringwood, Wilton and Amesbury were sent to the scene.

Firefighters wore breathing masks before going inside the house.

Yesterday, police confirmed that no further action will be taken in connection with the incident.
