A WOMAN was rescued after slipping down the track at Durdle Door and fracturing her ankle.
The incident happened on Friday (June 21) .
A spokesman for Lulworth Coastguard said: “A lady had slipped and injured her ankle while descending the track. The team were asked to make the lady as comfortable as possible as there was a wait for the next available ambulance.
“On arrival, a doctor visiting the area was helping the estate first aider and diagnosed a dislocated fracture to the ankle. He went on to assist the coastguard team with casualty care, all the time providing a high level of medical expertise for the entirety of the job.
“The ambulance crew arrived, provided pain relief, a vacuum splint and then assisted the coastguard team along with the off-duty doctor in carrying the lady to the top of the track and into the back of the ambulance.”
He added: “The team would like to thank the estate staff and the off-duty doctor (who gave up a considerable part of his family day out) with all their hard work today. We’d also like to wish today’s casualty a fast return to her feet.”
