AN ELDERLY woman is fighting for her life after she was involved in a crash with a car in Wimborne this afternoon. The pedestrian, aged in her 90s and from Ferndown, suffered a serious head injury in the collision with a white Chevrolet Trax in Allenview Road.
Dorset Police was called to the scene by the ambulance service at around 1.50pm.
The woman suffered a serious head injury and has been taken to Poole Hospital for treatment. Her condition is currently described as life-threatening.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a woman from Hampshire, was uninjured.
Allenview Road is currently closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.
Police are urging any witnesses to the crash to contact 101.
Police Sergeant Nikki Burt, of the traffic unit, said: “We are currently examining the scene to establish the exact circumstances of the collision. I would like to thank motorists for their patience while the road closure is in place.”
