A HAMPSHIRE benefits cheat has been ordered to do unpaid work.
Sebastian Warren James Yeo, 28, dishonestly claimed Carers Allowance from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) between October 2017 and May 2018.
Southampton Magistrates' Court heard Yeo failed to notify benefit bosses that he had started paid employment during that period.
He also failed to notify them in relation to his Income Support over the same period.
Yeo, of Deerleap Way, Hythe, pleaded guilty to both charges.
He was made subject of a 12 month community order, including 100 hours of unpaid work.
Yeo was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85 and court costs of £40.
