HUNDREDS of people are expected to line the streets of a Hampshire village to welcome the return of annual carnival this weekend
The Fair Oak Carnival will be bringing a party atmosphere to the village on Saturday, with the parade starting at New Road at 2pm.
With weekend temperatures set to break all records for June shorts and t-shirts will be in order.
On the day there will be entertainment for people of all ages including a dog show, a funfair and free arts and crafts activities.
Basking in the sun revellers will also be able to enjoy free strawberries and cream.
Taking part in the procession will be the Big Noise Community Samba Band, Fair Oak Junior School, Rainbows Pre-School and Happy Days preschool, as well as local Scouts and Guides groups.
Mayor of Eastleigh, Darshan Mann will also be making an appearance.
There will be temporary road closures on New Road, Sandy Lane, Victena Road, Witt Road, part of Winchester Road and part of Fair Oak.
According to the parish council, the future of the carnival is entirely dependent on help from volunteers.
