A SOUTHAMPTON woman is "over the moon" to have reached the finals of an international photography competition.

Anna Teoh, 29, who has Down's syndrome, entered the contest with a shot taken by her - a landscape view of trees and a river in the Autumn season - and is now a finalist of the Down's Syndrome Association's 'My Perspective' competition.

Being the first time she has ever competed, she said: "Autumn is my favourite time of year and I love the colours.

"To see them reflected on the still waters was a beautiful sight - I stood on a little hill to take the photo at Stourhead National Trust.

She added: "I am partially sighted and I use my camera to zoom to see what others can see when I can’t.

That’s when I really started enjoying photography."

Anna and 24 other finalists have been invited to a ceremony in London on June 25, where the winners will be announced.

The competition aims to give people with Down's syndrome the chance to show the world from their perspective.

Anna also attends a weekly photography group and said it taught her how to focus and be creative with the camera.
