A PENSIONER who was caught drink-driving has been banned from the roads.

Colin Gower, 71, was stopped while driving a Nissan X-Trail on Trinity Street, Fareham, on June 1.

When breathalysed by officers, he was found to have 61 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Gower, of George Street, Gosport, pleaded guilty to drink-driving.

He was banned from driving for 17 months and fined £346.

Gower was also ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
