A HUMAN bodies exhibition expected to take place in Southampton has been cancelled.
Those who bought tickets have expressed anger after being unable to get refunds from the hosting company Bodies Exhibition Southampton.
After the Portsmouth event did not go ahead, it was unsure whether it would be coming to Southampton on July 6 and 7.
Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton Grand Harbour confirmed that the Southampton event is also cancelled.
Bitterne resident Colin Abrahams, 67, said: “I bought two tickets but now I’m going to have to contact the bank to get my money back.”
Kerri Cocks, 33, a hamper maker from Romsey, said: “I’ve spent £41 on 3 tickets, which to me I can’t afford to lose.”
Caroline Simpson, 42, who is a teacher from Portsmouth, said: “We were supposed to have this event in Portsmouth but it was cancelled and nobody has managed to get their money back, so it has since been reported to the police.”
The Royal Maritime Club cancelled the Portsmouth event, and said: “This is due to the appropriate UK licences not being in place for this type of exhibition.
“Customers...should contact the website that they bought the tickets from to obtain a refund.”
Bodies Exhibition Southampton has been asked for a comment but had not replied at the time of going to press.
Citizens Advice state that anyone affected can contact their bank or PayPal.
