FIREFIGHTERS were called to a major fire at Marine Bar fish and chip shop at The Marsh, Hythe.
Two jets, two hose reels and were used to stop the fire that erupted on the first floor and the roof, after the building was evacuated.
Hythe, Hardley, Beaulieu, Redbridge and St Mary’s fire services helped to put the fire out.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews were sent to the fire after receiving a call at 11.16am for a fire at a chip shop.
“Two breathing apparatus, two jets and two reels were used.
“They are now damping down the building.”
Nobody was injured during the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and a fire investigation is being carried out.
