A WOMAN lost in the Ringstead area triggered a search of the Jurassic Coast.

Two coastguard teams from Wyke Regis and Lulworth began a search as dusk fell after the woman called to say she was lost.

Wyke Coastguard headed to the area to begin their search after the call came in just after 6pm on Thursday.

A coastguard spokesman said the plan was for the Wyke team to start from Ringstead and head east, while the Lulworth team would start at White Nothe and head west down the smugglers path.

“As the Lulworth team descended the zigzagging path, the lady was spotted waving for help in the middle of some very dense vegetation”, they said. “Officers made their way down the path. Using deer paths, scrambling and beating back vegetation, the Lulworth team reached the lady and checked her over for any injuries and provided water.”
