A WINE festival will return later this month with a famous face from the world of TV set to open it.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood will welcome guests to the seventh annual Vineyards of Hampshire Wine Festival, this year hosted by the award-wining Exton Park.

The group, which works to promote Hampshire’s sparkling and still wines includes vineyards such as Black Chalk near Winchester, Cottonworth Vineyards in Andover, Danebury Vineyards in Stockbridge, Exton Park Vineyard in the Meon Valley, Hambledon Vineyard, Hattingley Valley in Alresford, Jenkyn Place in Alton and Raimes in Titchborne.

Co-organiser Caroline Stevens, from Danebury Vineyards, said: "Every year the Vineyards of Hampshire wine festival attracts increasing numbers of wine and food lovers. It is a wonderful day out tasting, purchasing and learning about English wine in a quintessential English vineyard.

"We are also incredibly excited about Craig Revel Horwood opening the festival this year for us. He is local to Hampshire and is a huge supporter of our wines,"

At the festival, guests will have the opportunity to meet the winemakers, take part in wine workshops and join guided tours of Exton Park Vineyard.

Under marquees there will be over fifteen sparkling and still wines on offer to taste and buy. There will also be food stalls selling the Hampshire produce, Hampshire street food stalls and entertainment courtesy of the Alresford Ukulele Band.

The festival will take place on July 21, between 12pm and 4pm. Tickets cost £15 per person.
