A PASSENGER flight had to make an unscheduled landing at Southampton Airport this evening after declaring an "emergency".
The Flybe BE890 flight, from Southampton to Glasgow, landed at the airport shortly after take-off following a suspected technical issue.
A spokesperson for Southampton Airport said the pilot originally declared an emergency, but this was stood down and the airport was put on local standby.
Flybe say all passengers from the flight were re-accommodated on a replacement aircraft and have departed for Manchester.
A spokesperson for Flybe said: "The safety of its passengers and crew is the airline’s number one priority at all times and Flybe would like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience experienced."
