Firefighter rushed to a dangerous grass fire in Carlisle.
A crew from Carlisle West fire station were called about 5pm after the fire broke out.
An area, about 30 meters square, was ablaze at Bousted's Grassing, off Rome Street.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: "The grass was well alight when we arrived. We used a hosereel jet and beater to extinguish the fire.
"While the weather is warm and humid we ask people to take care, when discarding cigarettes and glass, while you're out and about.
"Not disposing of these items safely can cause fires."
Firefighters were at the scene for about 30 minutes
