HAMPSHIRE police are hunting for a suspect after a 26-year-old woman from Southampton was assaulted.

The woman was attacked whilst walking in a wooded area off Aldermoor Road on Friday, July 12.

She was near a basketball court between 9.30pm and 9.50pm when a teenage girl approached her and assaulted her.

The teenage girl is described as white, aged around 16-years-old, five feet five inches tall, of skinny build and with long, dirty blonde hair.

She was seen wearing a black long-sleeved top with a zip and black skinny leggings or jeans.

The girl was with a group of friends of similar age, with another girl in the group described as having long brown hair, medium to large build and wearing pink.

There were also boys in the group who were all wearing black or grey tracksuits.

The woman suffered bruising to her eye and needed medical treatment.

A police spokesperson said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, who saw a group of people as described in the area around the time, or who may recognise the descriptions.
