A MAN has pleaded guilty to manslaughter over the death of a man following an incident outside a Southampton pub.
Harry Joyce, 27, of no fixed address, admitted the manslaughter of Perry Cardy, following an assault outside the Bittern pub on Thornhill Park Road in April.
He denied a charge of murder at Winchester Crown Court this morning.
The pleas were accepted by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Joyce will be sentenced at 2pm tomorrow.
It comes after the death of Mr Cardy, following an assault outside the Bittern on Friday, April 19.
The 52-year-old , who lived on the same road as the pub, was taken to Southampton General Hospital following the incident.
Police later confirmed that Mr Cardy died in hospital two days later, on Sunday, April 21.
