ALMOST 200 runners competed in the Lordshill 10k - a rare mid-week race.
The event took place on Wednesday June 30, 1999, when the athletes pounded the flat course around Nursling.
Southampton Running Club's men rarely went home empty-handed from these affairs, and that day was no exception to the rule, as they took first and second in the team event with Eastleigh top for the women.
The first man over the line was Bournemouth AC's Duncan Hurdwell, and Jill Durham took first place in the women's race.
