A MAN will be sentenced next month after refusing to give police investigating a possible ‘targeted murder’ codes to access devices.

Aston Hannis, 28, of Woolford Close, in Stanmore, Winchester, indicated a plea guilty at Portsmouth Magistrates Court after being charged under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA).

Hannis is due to be sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court on August 16. He remains in custody.

It comes after police investigating the death of a man found dead with shotgun wounds arrested a sixth man on Thursday morning.

As previously reported, Gurinderjit Rai was found dead in a car in Shepherds Farm Lane, Corhampton, on Saturday at 9.58am.

A postmortem confirmed the 41-year-old had died as a result of shotgun wounds, with police believing it was a “targeted incident”.

Officers confirmed a sixth man, a 31-year-old from Winchester, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

That comes after a 25-year-old man, a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, all from Winchester, and a 31-year-old man from Eastleigh, were arrested on suspicion of murder. They have all been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

A 31-year-old man from Winchester was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. He has since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
